We are proud members of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry - NARI.

We take our responsibilities very seriously. One of the most important parts of our job is to make sure you, the consumer,
make an informed decision when choosing a Home Remodeling Contractor for your Kitchen, Bathroom, Addition or Whole House Remodeling Project.

By no means does this list contain everything you should be
aware of. Give us a call and let us educate you on these and other steps you can take to ensure your home remodeling project is a success. Schedule an appointment
10 Mistakes

1.  Condoning practices that would be unacceptable in any other
industry. (Paying cash for services, loaning money to the
contractor, paying employees or subcontractors directly)

2.  Pretending that "What I don't know won't hurt me" when it comes
to a contractor's license, insurance, or other credentials (It will
hurt; more than you can imagine)

3.  Searching for a contractor to fit their budget rather than a
project to fit their budget. (If the first 5 contractors you speak to all tell you a project is double your budget, don't keep looking for someone that says your budget is acceptable)

4.  Assuming that a contractor that doesn't seem successful will be cheaper or offer better service. (Most people would not search for a disheveled doctor or attorney. A successful, stable remodeling company makes money from efficiency, which translates to a faster, better finished product for you)

5.  Acting as general contractor themselves. (Find a full-service contractor that will handle all aspects of the project, and then let them earn their fees!)

6.  Not be forthcoming about budget constraints (Trying to impress a contractor that your budget is higher than it is; telling a contractor you have less than you actually plan to spend to try to affect his pricing)

7.  Not asking for current and trade references. (Some companies may have experienced a loss of key people or "growing pains" that is affecting their current performance.)

8.  Putting too much emphasis on when a contractor can start rather than how competent they are. (A good contractor should be booked for 4 months or more. If not, it may be a sign of instability.)

9.  Putting too much emphasis on a photo portfolio. (Go see the work in person if possible)

10.  Asking a contractor to do a job for which he isn't suited. (The handyman is a handyman for a reason. Don't hire him to add a new bedroom!)
