The design challenge for the Girardi basement was tying two fairly large areas together when only a narrow corridor existed between them. The projection of the stairs into the middle of the potential entertaining area limited the manner in which the two sides of the basement could be integrated.
We worked with the Girardis to design a mahogany bar that, while further reducing the width of that area, changed the visual reference as well. The outcome is a functional transition from side to side and a common area between the two halves of the basement.
