The Thomas bath is actually the result of reconfiguration of three contiguous spaces in the original floor plan. The original layout had an undersized master bath, an undersized closet, and an overly large transition area between the bedroom/bathroom/ closet.
The new design scavenged the transition space to use one-third for additional closet and two-thirds for additional bath space. This extra square footage allowed for a 60" shower footprint with a seat and frameless enclosure and a large single vanity with a linen cabinet. Using a two-sided frameless enclosure rather than a stall for the shower created a more open feel and the granite shower seat ties the materials from the vanity area to the rest of the room. The additional closet space needs no explanation!
